                                                        16 – 24 and unemployed

Are you currently unemployed in united kingdom? if so is this because you are in full time education? it is a lot harder for young people to get a job in the united kingdom. is it because we want a good life so we decide to go to college and then university but where does all that hard work get us at the very end. Are we
guaranteed  a job after university. what i am going to talk about is what is available for people our ages, what its doing to us financially and how are we suppose to find a job.
In today’s society it’s very hard to find a job at the ages of 16 -24 this is either because they have just came out of school, college and university and have no experience in what some companies expect. If you’re a 16 year old it’s harder to find a job and this is because you are only limited to certain jobs due to your age. When you’re 18 years of age you’re an adult and can work as anything, by anything I mean jobs such as working in an environment with Alcohol, cigarettes and in a warehouse. You can only be 18 to work in these environments because to buy Alcohol and cigarettes you have to be 18 it’s the law. 16 year old are limited to what factory work they can do, I know from past applications I have sent in when I was 16 and 16 year old are not allowed to work in some factories because it’s to do with the health and safety act. The fact that 16 year old are limited to what they do is not fair because 16 year old won’t be given the chance to gain experience in that sort of category. There are lots of opportunities to do work experience but the fact is that some 16 year old won’t want to do this as the majority of the time you don’t get paid for it. Yeah ok it’s for the experience but you’re not guaranteed to get a job at the end of it. So then it’s back to looking. I see where people are coming from though with the whole it’s the experience but people won’t want to work for nothing when they aren't going to get anything back. This is one of my sayings I use a lot ‘‘it’s not what you know, it’s who you know’’ I honestly think this is too true because I got a job because I knew the people, but its so hard to even get a job these days because people they know will get first chance.
University students are finding it hard to even find a job but the government want them to go out and start from the bottom and work their way up again, why should they have to considering how much they have paid to even go to university. It is £9000 a year to study at university over the 3 years you are expected to leave university with the debt of £38.000.

School Leaver

When you come to the leaving age of school you are given a decision in what you want to do after, whether this is college, apprenticeships, Full time job or even sixth form/A Levels. In the United Kingdom there is now a law been set for people that are in education have to stay in education till they turn 18. We are quite lucky that we get free education in this country, this is because it allows us to go to college for free and get the education we want to make a career. For people that don't want to go to college and just want to go out and get a job its hard as they have no experience in certain parts in the working industry. To get a job in retail, you need experience in retail, cash handling and also customer service. Getting a job in a factory/Warehouse these days are hard as well as some factories/Warehouses want a reference from a factory based job. School leavers will find it hard to get a job in a factory/Warehouse as the majority of factory/Warehouse jobs are for 18+ these is due to health and safety. So what is there for you school leavers that want to go out and get a job well there isn't anymore as like i said before you have to stay in education till your 18, its the law but you do have the chance to get a part time job that fits around what you are studying. this could include jobs such as working at your local cinema, dog walking, babysitting, local corner shop, paper round and shelf stacker. The other possibility for school leavers is going into an apprenticeship from your local college, there are loads of apprenticeship vacancies available in the united kingdom and its a good opportunity to go on one this is because you gain experience in the working world. Some apprenticeships that are available are only to 18+ year olds and this is because of legal reasons so make sure you check when applying for an apprenticeships. The website for apprenticeships is  www.apprenticeships.org.uk so if you are looking for apprenticeships check your local colleges and check
 out the website.

University leaver

So you have just left university with a £27.000 debt. what happens from now? well when you leave university you should have experience in the specific industry you wish to go in. lets say for example you went to university to become a radio presenter, well my guess is that you would of studied radio for 3 years on how to use and run a desk. what i'm trying to say is that you have gained your experience from work experience, college and also the projects you have been involved in. Aiming to get a job when you leave university is so hard this depends on what job you are looking for when you leave university. lets say you studied journalism then you would have to try find any companies that want you, also make sure you sell yourself big so in your CV tell them everything you have done and your greatest accomplishments in your life. In the media they make out that people that are in uni have hardly any chance to get a job but its actually down to how you sell yourself and it comes down to what sort of work you want, if you are studying something and Company's don't need them they wont put vacancies out so try do a course that a lot of jobs want. lets say for example you want to be an actress/actor this career path is the most competitive career to get into you have to expect criticism and a lot of knock backs. physically you need to get as much experience you can possibly get out of university and then honestly sell yourself big and not just small big i mean massive. Company's like people who bring something new and have new experiences. the best way for you to find a career in what it is you love studying is to look for their specific websites, newspapers, or even ask friends and family whether they know anyone in the same industry you wish to go in. When your at uni stage its all about who you know not what you know.

                                          Cheryl Cole returns to x-factor

It has been confirmed that Cheryl Cole will be coming back to x-factor this year with Simon Cowell back in the judge’s seats but with whom else as a judge we are still uncertain. Cheryl did go to America and do the show over their but it didn't go to well and this is because nobody could understand her Geordie accent so she was let go in 2011. When Simon Cowell was asked about why he dropped Cheryl Cole he said she seemed bewildered. In the metro newspaper it is said to believe that Simon Cowell had to beg Cheryl Cole to come back to x-factor after he dropped her from the American show and they had a big bust up.

Cheryl claims she isn't in it for the money and that she is back because she wants to find pop stars.
Cheryl Cole first came on our screens back in 2002 when she appeared on a TV reality show called pop stars: the rivals, she had won a place in the girl group called Girls Aloud. Girls Aloud have 20 consecutive top ten singles in the UK singles Charts this includes 4 number 1s and 6 platinum albums. In 2013 Girls Aloud announced that they had split up. During Cheryl’s time through her career in girls aloud she was also married to a famous football player called Ashley Cole who plays for Chelsea and England. Ashley Cole and Cheryl Cole split in 2010 due to Ashley Cole sending topless pictures to a model.

Cheryl Cole first joined the x-factor back in 2008 she was the winning judge twice out of the 3 series she was there. The contestants she won with were Alexandra Burke and Joe Mcelderry. They beat the likes of JLS and Olly Murs. The ratings were higher when Cheryl Cole was a judge on x-factor than what it has been the previous years because when Cheryl Cole was a judge the ratings were 10.51 millions  but for the past previous years its gone down to 8.16 million. This shows that not many people have watched it for the past couple years.

There’s a lot of controversy of x-factor the list could go on but one that always comes up is that the winners never get anywhere they seem to be around for a year and then you don’t hear of them again, but the runners up seem to make a career so is it Syco Entertainment its self or do the public generally not like the winners. In my opinion I think it’s the record label because if the public don’t like the winners then why would they even vote for them in the show, I think its Syco entertainment they give them there year of fame and then they have to make it on their own but they get no help so they have no clue where to find record labels who want them. Take Steve Brookstein he won x-factor the first year and Simon didn’t want him then so he never got to fulfil his dream because Simon Cowell didn’t like him, I feel that this needs to change and then maybe the show will get more viewers but it doesn’t help with changing the judges all the time either. Changing the judges all the time is ridiculous this is because it doesn’t make other people want to watch it, we still know that the winner never gets anywhere so we just vote on who we want to come second so they get a career they want.

In an interview with Dan Wootton Cheryl and Simon spoke about Cheryl Coles return to the x-factor and that Simon Cowell is going to let Cheryl choose who she wants next to her on the panel, when Dan Wootton mentioned that Cheryl wouldn’t want Louis Walsh on the show she just laughed it off and didn’t actually say anything about it but in the papers it has said that Cheryl Cole doesn’t want Louis Walsh on the panel but Simon Cowell is really keen on him staying.

In my opinion I think it’s good that Cheryl Cole is coming back I think it will make it feel like the old times but like I said previously I don’t think it would boost up the viewers as the shows just gone downhill over the years and doesn't seem to be getting any more interesting. It’s getting old and dated we need a new side to x-factor we haven’t seen. I like the fact Simon Cowell is coming back as well but the whole animosity between Simon and the women on x-factor isn't what the contestants or the public really want to see we know he gets attracted to a lot of women but he needs a new side of him and then maybe people will sit and watch it and it will be like it was when it first started. I’m glad Cheryl is back and I can’t wait to see what she offers this year.
